Rima – Subdued 12″

Electronic single released in 2003 by Compost Records in Germany, a label that would also put out albums on the joint Jazzanova Compost Records imprint. Rima is made up of mostly Dominick Stanton and Enrico Crivellaro, and has a distinctly British future/acid jazz feel. I bought the record because Amp Fiddler contributes two remixes, but understandably the funk remix overshadows the “futuristic” mix. Two other songs on the album are pretty good examples of electronica of the time but aren’t dated much. I especially like the Isoul8 (lol) remix of the groups own work Telos, which sounds like it could have been released in the 90’s but sounds much cleaner. This was definitely a pleasant surprise.
